#ULTIMA 4 QUEST OF THE AVATAR REVIEW MOD#

With work being a little slow lately, I’ve had some time to squeeze in on the mod to work it out. I’ve got other projects I’d like to work on, so I want to get this to the finish line. Trying to polish it enough to where there won’t be a deluge of bugs to fix. I want: at the very least, all u6 portraits looking somewhat decent (I have been reworking some of them myself), the plot to be playable through to the end, and conversations working for all npcs. So I just want it to look good, be playable to the end, and hopefully not have too many bugs. My original goal was to release it when I was finished, but I don’t think it will ever be truly “finished” because there will always be something I need to perfect. It’s kind of interesting seeing how far I’ve come and now I actually know what I’m doing with the programming stuff. Lately I’ve been trying to rework the conversation files to be more efficient and work better. Not sure I really want to go through discrete mathematics again.Īside from that, I’m determined to wrap this mod up and getting closer. I got a new job, even if it is just a long term temp position, and school is pretty much on hold. Ultramind Dragon’s Runic Font ConverterĪfter yet another long period of silence, the team behind The Ultima 6 Remake (a total conversion for Exult that aims to implement the story of Ultima 6 using Ultima 7’s graphics and gameplay) have dropped a bit of New Year’s news on their Facebook page (I’ve added a bit of spacing to separate different topics):.Importantly, this version of the module only works with Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition, the updated - and still-maintained - version of Neverwinter Nights released by Beamdog. New items have been added (including swamp boots!), some item behaviours have been adjusted, and many bugs have been squashed.

Towns have been integrated into the landscape of Britannia, karma point accrual and loss has been tweaked (making it possible, or at least much easier, to advance in Honesty, Compassion, Justice, and Sacrifice). It features a new introductory sequence, a new endgame sequence, and new loading screens. This reworked version of Reborn has given the mod a significant overhaul, enough that it should be treated as a separate mod. Several optional bits of content - an Ultima-themed GUI, an Ultima music pack, and still yet more Ultima-inspired character portraits - were also made available. An Italian translation was released soon thereafter, and was later converted to a dual-language (English and Italian) version, keeping all of the updates and enhancements that had been introduced in the Italian version, but adding in the faux Middle English text and dialogue again.Īdditional revisions to Reborn adjusted the appearance of many of the monsters (to bring them more in line with Ultima lore), custom portraits, custom item icons, and Ultima-themed loading screens were also included. Years later - in 2010, to be more precise - Ultima IV Reborn saw a number of bug fixes and updates made to it courtesy of Glanestel Dragon, mostly based on feedback from people who had played the mod. This remake of Ultima 4 traces its origins back to July 2003, which is when the Ultima IV Reborn mod was released for Neverwinter Nights.
